(VIDEO) Insider Tips to Record Professional Video in the Comfort of Your Own Office
As you can see I am doing a different kind of video today because I want to show you some insider tips on how to do video for free in your office. Video is going to be huge next year. It is predicted that 74% of all online traffic in 2017 will be video and you will already be seeing a tonne a video on websites and social media.
So what do you need to film some good video content? I am going to share the exact process that I normally follow.
It starts with your script. Type it in a Word Doc and structure it with an intro, key points and outcomes. Once that is refined, upload it to an app called Teleprompter + on your mobile or iPad and this will help you massively when you are talking so you don’t have to remember a 2-minute script (which you never will). It will be the best $15 you ever spend on an app.
Next choose a location – this might be offsite, in your office, outside – mix it up but be mindful of noise and interruptions. Have an interesting background – don’t just sit in front of a white background – boring!
A simple tip is to string a line across your office and buy some material to peg to it which gives you an interesting background that you can change regularly. This is exactly what I did in the above video.
To film your video you can use a videographer or if you want to film one quickly yourself, use your smartphone or a program like ScreenCast O Matic which is what I filmed this above video on. It is free and once you’ve finished filming you can just upload to YouTube.
To make your video look more professional, add a professional top and tail which you can get created on Fiverr or by someone on Odesk. You can add this by using YouTube editor which is super easy and you just drag and drop your video, add the top and tails into it then save.
You then have a finished video on YouTube. The final step is to add a branded thumbnail so you don’t have those odd ‘mid-conversation’ images when you display your video. And the most important part now is to start promoting your video with the world. If you are using Facebook upload it direct rather than just sharing a link and you will get much better reach.
Video marketing is essential in 2017 and I hope you got lots of value from these video tips.
