(VIDEO) Don’t Hire Someone Because You Feel Bad for Them

A lesson I learnt fairly early in business was not to hire someone to help them, but hire someone to help my business. Ensure your new hire is the right person for the job and who will deliver on the results you expect not a family member or friend you want to help out because you like them, feel bad for them or just want to help out.

In curious, do you feel the same way? Or have you hired on pity and it’s actually turned out great for your business? Let me know in the comments below.

Guilty. I’ve done this a couple of times as well and I now remind myself that the only thing more difficult than passing over a friend or family member for a job…is having to put them off a few months later. Great Video, Thanks Bree.

Yep that’s so true. I made that mistake years ago (twice) and it cost me tens of thousands and put me back a few years. If only someone had the courage and insight to tell me that then, life today would be easier. Great message.
