Tanya, who is your business idol and why?

Richard Branson and Bethany Frankel – both have been successful through hard work and determination and have ridden the roller coaster so to speak. Successes and failures but keep going. They both have strong personal brands too.

What was the last book you read without skipping through anything?

Oversubscribed by Daniel Priestley and Remarkability by Lorraine Murphy – both are awesome reads for anyone in small business.

If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?

My husband so I can see how hard (or not) he actually works and I’m always curious what I look like in his eyes.

What is something you’ve always wanted to try but have been too scared to?

There are many things I want to but just need the money to do them. I can’t think of anything that I want to do that also scares me.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

Being involved with the G20 Global Café when it was held in Brisbane. I helped co-ordinate the Digital, Innovation & Technology stream and was a great experience. And also having the courage to be my own boss, although it can be very scary at times.

Where is your favourite place to go on a weekday afternoon when you have no plans or obligations?

I like to sit by my pool with a good book (and depending on the time of day… with a glass of champagne in my hand).

What drives you to do what you do? What motivates you?

I want to make myself proud and feel like a successful entrepreneur.

Is there a documentary/book/event that really changed the way you thought about something?

I can’t think of the name of it but it was a documentary about 5 girls in various 3rd world countries and their struggle to get educated. Very enlightening and makes you realise how lucky we are so have basic education.

What’s your favourite cheesy pick-up line? Have you ever used it for real?

I’ve never actually used any (never had to).

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What colour would you be and why?

Fuschia – it’s bright, full of energy and stands out.

What’s your favourite ’90s jam?

I’m an 80’s girl when we’re talking music – c’mon it was awesome!

If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer?

I would respond only to what is most relevant and urgent.
