Lee, who is your business idol and why?
It’s had to say I have just one, I’ve learned so much from so many different people. But if I had to choose a favourite I’d have to say Lucy Perry. She’s an incredible business woman, humanitarian and mother.
What was the last book you read without skipping through anything?
Thelma the Unicorn by Aaron Blabey. I just read it to my daughter three times in a row and she knows if I even think about skipping a page! My last grown up book: Screw It, Let’s Do It by Richard Branson.
If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?
One of my kids so I could have one more day of wonder, magic and innocence – but only if I could keep the memory of it so I could bring it back to my adult life.
What is something you’ve always wanted to try but have been too scared to?
Surf. I live at the beach and love the beach, but I have a phobia of the water. I even struggle in swimming pools.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
Being a 100% self-employed family, who this year is able to start giving back by establishing some new environmental and humanitarian programs within our business.
Where is your favourite place to go on a weekday afternoon when you have no plans or obligations?
My kids are 4 and 1, so we head straight for the park! We have a favourite, right on the beach with a little café across the road. This also happens to be the best way to clear your head and reduce stress!
What drives you to do what you do? What motivates you?
There are a couple of answers to this. Firstly, my kids. Not just providing for them, but being a role model for them. And the second thing, there’s just something inside me that yearns for the business world. I love it!
Is there a documentary/book/event that really changed the way you thought about something?
The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. I first read it when I was a teenager and re-read it every few years. It changed the way I thought about everything.
What’s your favourite cheesy pick-up line? Have you ever used it for real?
I don’t think I’ve ever tried to pick someone up! Favourite cheesy line – “Know what’s on the menu?” “Me-n-u”.
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What colour would you be and why?
Purple. I like to think it’s because it’s deep and mysterious, a little bit shy.
What’s your favourite ’90s jam?
Anything by Salt n Pepper or MN8.
If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer?
That sounds like a normal day in the life of my inbox! It all comes back to my priorities and my why. It’s not hard to choose your top 300 if you’re clear on your priorities.
