End the Hustle Through Creating Intellectual Property Assets
As we catapult toward the end of the year, hands up if you feel there’s just too much going on in your business?
There’s nothing quite like that dash towards the end of the year to help you realise that maybe things aren’t as efficient as they could be. Between sales calls, content creation, delivery of services, and all of the behind the scenes stuff that goes on, things can start to feel really hectic and quite frankly, a little bit out of control.
In this article, I’m going to share with you the 4 ways that creating Intellectual Property (IP) assets can help alleviate some of that hustle and help you to feel more streamlined and more in control again.
1. IP assets create a conversation shortcut.
You’re a busy person. Sure, it’d be nice to sit down and have hours and hours of conversations with potential clients. But, sometimes we just don’t have that amount of time, and neither do our clients. It’s hard to reach many people when it takes you ages to explain what it is you do and how you can help them.
When you create visual models that clearly show people your IP, it helps you to communicate clearly and succinctly so people just ‘get it’. Think of it as a shortcut to people understanding how it is you can help them. Instead of a two-hour long conversation with someone, you can shortcut this down to say half an hour or maybe even 15 minutes.
So having IP assets means you can save time with your conversations.
2. Decrease the amount of time you spend following up clients.
How many hours have you spent chasing and following up clients? Too many? Having a visual model can excite and inspire clients to take action. Especially if they can see where they are now and where they’d like to get to in a visual way. This helps potential clients leap into action.
You can save time you would otherwise spend in hours of follow up by simply exciting them enough to jump at the chance to work with you.
3. Use visual models to decrease the amount of time you spend educating.
With visual models, you can educate your clients simply and powerfully. Visual models make the teaching components of your business much more streamlined. When people can see it, they can understand it more quickly.
If you spend hours and hours educating your clients in a one to one or one to many setting, having visual IP assets can make the time you spend educating your clients far more streamlined and more powerful for your clients!
4. More successful sales conversations.
Having visual IP assets is a quick way to demonstrate your value and credibility. It’s much easier to sell a proven system than to sell yourself. When you can pull out a visual model and say, “This is what it’s all about, and this is what we work through”, suddenly you’re not selling your ‘skills’ as a coach, consultant or expert, you’re selling the system.
IP assets can be so effective, and you’ll find that you’re closing more sales. This means when you close a higher percentage of your sales, you can then spend less time selling and more time on your business.
