Have you experienced business owner burnout -- blemishes, headaches, sleeplessness, panic attacks, or heart palpitations?…
5 Ways to Go From Misery to Happiness!
I know this is possible because I have done it myself. And you can do it too.
When you think about happiness what do you think of? What would it take for you to feel happy?
1. Feeling happy is a choice.
You can and should choose to be happy. If you go through life being buffered around by whatever is happening to you, it will be difficult to find your happy place. If you deliberately choose to reach for the best feeling or thought you could find, every minute of every day, then it will be far easier. Happiness is a state of mind, and your state of mind is very much affected by your choices.
2. Memories and hopes and dreams.
I hope that there are many memories that you will have of happy times in your life. Sometimes you will need to search for them. I promise it will be worth the search. If you cannot find any happy memories, you must start to make new happy memories right away. When you activate the feeling of how you felt in that moment, maybe when your children were born or perhaps when you started out in business, full of passion; you will feel the feeling in your body. That feeling is happiness.
You will have hopes and dreams that you wish to fulfil. The way to find your happy place with these is to imagine how it would feel if you already had achieved those hopes and dreams. Some would say this is, “Fake it till you make it”, but it is so much more than that. When you feel how good it would feel to already have those hopes and dreams in place in your life or in your business, you are raising your vibration. When you raise your vibration, you are in creative mode. The longer you can stay in this vibration, the closer you get to the creation of the very thing that you hope and dream for.
Most importantly when you raise your vibration, you will be feeling the feeling of happiness. It is ‘gold’.
3. Give yourself permission to be happy.
I am continually amazed that people don’t always give themselves permission to feel happy. You might be too busy to even think about it. I encourage you to think about the reasons you got into business in the first place. Was it something like, “I want the freedom of my own business, of being my own boss. I want the opportunity to make some decent money.”
Now ask yourself why you wanted those things. The bottom line will always be, “I wanted the freedom because it would make me happy”, or “I wanted to have the opportunity to make decent money because it would allow me to spend more time with my family and therefore feel happy.” No matter what you want, it is always going to come back to ‘because it would make me happy’. Test it out. Keep asking “Why did I want that?” and you will find this to be true.
4. How can I be happy when I am feeling so stressed and overwhelmed?
It is certainly hard to find your happy place when you are stressed and overwhelmed. You need to clear the stress and overwhelm. Do not, under any circumstances continue to feel the stress and overwhelm hoping that it will go away by itself. It will not. You need to take active steps to clear it and then find your happy place.
5. Remember happiness is a state of mind and you have control over your state of mind.
No-one else can do this for you. If you are looking for some force outside yourself to make you happy, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is, it will never happen. The good news is that you will eventually get uncomfortable enough to seek happiness in the only place you will find it; inside of yourself (and in your connection to your ‘higher self’).
